My big sister got married! Woohoo! It’s funny… Everyone says me and my sister look alike, talk alike, act alike, but when it comes to interests we couldn’t be more opposite. My sister is 100% math and science and a physical therapist while I’m an artsy farty graphic designer. With this being known between the two of us, naturally I was chosen to do anything and everything design (and creative) related for her wedding.
First things first were of course the invitations. We decided to go with this awesome white paper that shimmered with a hint of gold in the light. Instead of an RSVP card, we made a separate card for the reception information. We used gold ink and added in swooping lines for an extra element.
Next up were the programs for the ceremony. We did a square tri-fold brochure style program on the same awesome paper and with the same ink colors and elements as the invites.
Now let’s not forget about one of the most important parts of a wedding…. the drinks! Here’s the drink menu for the bar.
My dad makes his own wine, which we served at the wedding. I LOVE me some wine and his is so delicious! We made custom labels for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Food is obviously very important as well. We made placecards for the all wedding tables seating with the same awesome paper. I just bought gold glitter tape from Etsy.com and applied the tape by hand. It was actually pretty easy and they turned out great.
We used the leftover namecards to label the desert table.
Back in the day, people would place disposal cameras around for the guests to capture candids. These day’s theres an app for that. My sister used an app called WedPics, and it’s awesome! While they offer cards themselves, we came up with our own. These were placed on the entry table, at the bar, and elsewhere to give guests clear instructions how to use the app and what to hashtag, #boeckman2014. This was a great way for my sister to gather everyone’s pictures.
Last but not least, the thank you’s! The sign was placed on the guest table at the wedding and the cards were sent out to all guests after the wedding.
Being a part of my sister and Nick’s big day as the Maid of Honor and the designer was a blast. Can’t wait to design the baby announcement card 😉2
